Dear Parents,
It is the last week of the 2021 marching band season. I am so proud of the growth we have had this year. I think back to where we were last year this time and I am so grateful we are here, learning in person all together. After this week I will not send emails weekly but only when things are super busy. Please continue to look at our calendars page on our website for updates.
State this year is in Buckeye Arizona, it is a long drive from Sahuarita. If you have looked at the green handout we are ranked #5 in the state for our division. It is such an honor to be performing in the last block of the event. I hope you can make it to the show to support our group. On Saturday, students will need to bring meal money, snack money and water. We will make several stops and some things will be provided. Our send off show on Friday will include some awards, please come and celebrate with us at 7pm, with the performance shortly after.
Week at a Glance
Wednesday – students take home uniforms, hat boxes, pep music, patriotic music for Thursday
Thursday – 9:30am dressed and ready to warm up at the American Legion Post #66 (where we had our car wash) parents are welcome to stay or drop their child off. They will also have refreshments for the students after the performance at 11am.
Friday – Send Off Show, rehearsal 4-6pm Show at 7ish on the field for all friends and family to attend
Saturday – State in Buckeye, 11:30am arrive (Pitch Black Shirt) 1:30pm depart, 7:30 perform, 1:15am return
Parents traveling with us please arrive by 12:45pm to help load for Buckeye
Monday – Regional and All-State Jazz registration payments due $25 in the band room
Tuesday, November 16 – Panda Express Percentage Day for SHS Music Boosters (support our boosters)

Other Housekeeping
Please make sure to pay your child’s class fee in the front office. Class fees cover many things, show shirt $22, purchase of music, entrance fees for competitions and repairs on school owned equipment. Ensemble fees are $50 for the year.
