Quick Reminders and Updates

I want to first send out a huge CONGRATULATIONS to the Sahuarita Mustang Marching Band on earning a spot at ABODA State Championships on November 18! I can't emphasize enough what a huge achievement this is and how proud I am of you! You faced some very challenging competition at semi-finals and held your own. Be proud of your work!

I also want to thank everyone that came out for our informal send-off on Friday. It was great for us to perform for an audience the night before our big day.

With that said, this is just a friendly reminder that our last rehearsals are Tuesday 11/7, Thursday 11/9, Tuesday 11/14, and Thursday 11/16. All of these rehearsals are from 5:00-8:30 and as we prepare for state we need 100% attendance at each of these rehearsals. Our formal send-off show will take place on Thursday, 11/16 at 8:00P. Please invite everyone you know to send us off Champs!

Here are other important events and info you should know:

Tuesday, 11/7 is the due date for all butter braid orders and money. Remember, the goal is for EVERYONE in band and orchestra to sell a minimum of 7 butter braids. This fundraiser is our biggest club fundraiser of the year, and is very important for our operations for the remainder of the year. Everyone's support is appreciated!

Saturday, 11/11 the SMMB will be performing for the Veteran's Day ceremony at the American Legion Post 66. Percussion will need to meet at the band room at 7:00A to load equipment before moving to the American Legion. All other students will meet at the American Legion at 8:30A. The ceremony itself begins at 10:00A, and lunch will be provided to us afterward. Students should be picked up from the American Legion around 12:00P. Percussion will need to return to SHS to unload.

Orchestra Day auditions for winds and percussion take place after school on Wednesday, November 15. Orchestra Day rehearsals for all orchestra students as well as winds and percussion who earn a spot in the orchestra are scheduled for November 30 and December 6. Both rehearsals are from 6:00-8:00P.
