Dear Parents, This past week has been very rewarding and exhausting at the same time. Thank you for getting your child up and off to school every day. We have been making music as a full ensemble and preparing for our concert on April 29th. This week I have added Sight Reading Factory back into our assignments. Students will receive the assignment on Monday and it is due by Wednesday for full credit. Late credit will continue until Saturday of that same week. Dear Parents, We return to Five days a week in  person instruction on Monday, April 5th. We have Concert Band Rehearsals on the following dates, to prepare for our concert on April 29th in the Auditorium. This concert will include guests as did our virtual upload events for Indoor Percussion and guard did. We will also record the concert and display on Facebook and the website as we did in December, I will send more info as the date gets closer. SHS Graduation – Jazz Band

Parents, Save the date: SHS Jazz Band will perform at the Sahuarita High School Graduation on Wednesday, May 19th at 7pm, we will arrive by 5:30 and be done by 9pm. More info to follow. Dear Parents, Third quarter comes to a close this week, WOW it is hard to believe. Please make sure your child has all Sight Reading Factory turned in (SRF). Last week March 3rd was the last required SRF for the quarter, this allows plenty of time to turn in late submissions by this week Wednesday, March 10th to allow me time to update grades. I will not accept any SRF after this Wednesday for 3rd quarter, it will remain zero in powerschool. Parents, We have been approved for our club fundraiser, I have created an assignment in our google classroom, this is NOT a graded assignment but I hope every student will participate. In the past we would have had multiple car washes, onsite fundraisers and Butterbraid pastry sales in addition to this email campaign. Please help us to be successful. Jazz Band Rehearsal

Parents, We will have in person jazz band rehearsal on Thursday, January 28th at Sahuarita High School. Rhythm section 2:30 - 4pm Wind sections 3pm - 4:15 Please make sure your child has washed their music specific mask and have their instrument covers. We will take temperature when they arrive, they should bring their own water for this rehearsal. We will rehearse outside with social distancing respected. Dear Parents, I hope this email finds you well and the information I provide is helpful. We are in distance learning with regular meetings during the school day. Students should log in biweekly, have their instrument and music out and be ready to play! Dear Parents, On Friday in class the students took a survey about participation in the concert with options of alternate assignments if they will not participate in the event due to the return to distance learning and I have the results. 6% (4 students) of students are on quarantine and will not be allowed to participate per district and CDC guidelines they will be given an alternate assignment. 3% (2) of students answered that they do not feel safe and they will be given an alternate assignment instead of attending rehearsals and concert. 91% of students answered that as long as they are [...]
