Hello all,

Below is important information for the upcoming weeks.

WGAZ Show Host
Thank you so much to everyone that volunteered. We received nothing but positive feedback from WGAZ. The judges and WGAZ staff were very pleased with how polite and accommodating all of the volunteers were, and they LOVED the taco bar! Mrs. Cornaby will report to me the final numbers, but we made a pretty decent profit for a small, first-year show. The show host coordinator an myself also spoke about hosting again next year!

Props
I know I’ve been dragging on props. Mr. Allen is working on prep this Friday, and we need a few people to help build on Saturday, 2/29 @ 9am. Bring a drill if you have one! I donated one to SHS Music so we have one on site.

Uniforms
Our uniforms have shipped! We will try on and adjust pant-length on Wednesday. If any parents are able to help pin pants, and help hem (last year we just used hemming tape and an iron for most of them), please let me know! This is always an awkward conversation, but PLEASE make sure your child is prepared with the appropriate undergarments. The bibbers are a slim-fit athletic material and is not very forgiving. All members should have compression shorts (available at target/walmart/ross for about $10). The students usually don’t wear their show shirt under their bibbers, but sometimes a compression shirt or tight-fitting athletic shirt helps with comfort.

WGI Regional – Download WGI Regional Itinerary

I have attached the itinerary for the WGI Regional at Eastmark HS on March 7. WGI is different than WGAZ in that we have a prelims run and a finals run. There are 11 groups in our division, and if we place in the top 6 in our morning run, we will perform our show again that evening. If we make finals (which would be HUGE for our group), then it is a VERY long day. Please refer to the itinerary for more information. A hard-copy will also be sent home with your child on Monday night.

Mr. Elam did a fantastic job adding additional storage space in our trailer. I can’t believe that Mrs. Garcia and the boosters got this amazing trailer just last year, and we’ve already out-grown it! Most indoor percussion ensembles of our size use a semi-trailer, but we will adapt and make it work as always. That said, if there’s any parents with a pickup truck that would be willing to drive equipment up to WGI, that would be amazing. We should only need one additional pickup, but two would be better.

Last year, the parents did an awesome job of coordinating snacks and gatorade on our long performance days. We are still pretty solid on our gatorade supply, so if a couple parents want to coordinate a healthy snack for the kids to eat before they perform, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for making Sahuarita Indoor Percussion so great. The comments about our production were very positive to say the least.  We are on the path to an incredible season, and it wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s support.
