Hello all,
PROPS
Tomorrow we will be building the tree props behind the band room @ 9:00. Mr. Allen has done a lot of work on them already, including all of he preparatory cuts necessary. If any parents are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. We are in need of an air compressor, framing nailer, and several drills. See you tomorrow!
UNIFORMS
We have fitted everyone in our uniforms, and need a few parents to show up with irons and ironing boards on Monday evening to help hem pants. I think the easiest way is to just use a hemming tape, which I will work on providing. Not everyone needs length adjustments.
VOLUNTEERS
We still need volunteers to help drive up extra equipment in their personal trucks. We will have a better idea on Wednesday, but if one parent with a truck would be willing to help, it would help us out immensely. I also haven’t heard from anyone about providing the snack for the morning.
ANNOUNCEMENT
After seeing our production at the show last week, the judges sent a video of our performance to the WGAZ Classification Committee. Based on our skill level, WGAZ has decided to move us up a division to Percussion Scholastic A-Local. This is a direct result of everyone’s hard work. We will now be competing with a larger pool of schools in a higher degree of difficulty. I am so proud and excited that our growth has been recognized.
On March 14, WGAZ will recognize Sahuarita Indoor Percussion with a “Promotion Ceremony” art the beginning of the Percussion Focus Awards. We will be brought down in front of all 42 competing ensembles, and be officially promoted to A-Local. Congrats, Mustangs! Parents are strongly encouraged to attend and support!
Thank you all for your hard work.
