Indoor Percussion Rehearsal 12/2

Hello all! A friendly reminder that we have in-person rehearsal at SHS Wednesday, December 2. We will rehearse from 6p-8p, but meet outside of the band room by 5:30 to setup equipment. We will dismiss promptly at 8pm. Important things to remember: 1. Masks 2. Water Bottle 3. Appropriate Attire (no jeans for battery) 4. Athletic Shoes (everyone) 5. Hello all! A few updates as we head into thanksgiving week… We do not have any indoor percussion rehearsals this week. Battery should be practicing the attached warm-ups. Front Ensemble should be working on green scales in C, F, G, D, Ab, Bb, and A. Rhythm section should be working on 16th grid and triplet timing with a metronome at 80, 120, and 144. Hello all, Parent Info Meeting Monday, November 16 at 7pm is our parent meeting. Here we will go over the handbook, fee structure, rehearsal schedule, volunteer needs, and policies/procedures. I will also address the guidance from district that caused us to cut our rehearsal short on Friday. This is the hardest email I’ve ever had to compose. Given the escalating concern around COVID-19, WGAZ has decided to follow suit with several other state circuits and cancel the remainder of the season. I am absolutely heartbroken by this. But it will not break us. We still have the planned showcase performance on 3/26, and our district site tour on 3/25. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! Yesterday was a LONG day and I appreciate everyone’s hard work from start to finish. This season, we started out as Regional A and were promoted to A-Local in the WGAZ circuit after our first show. Then yesterday at WGI we were the only group to make finals from WGAZ A-Local division (all other groups in finals were A-National groups)! This group continues to exceed my expectations and our progress has been amazing. Yesterday making finals was a win for us. Hello all, PROPS Tomorrow we will be building the tree props behind the band room @ 9:00. Mr. Allen has done a lot of work on them already, including all of he preparatory cuts necessary. If any parents are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. We are in need of an air compressor, framing nailer, and several drills. See you tomorrow! Hello all, Below is important information for the upcoming weeks. WGAZ Show Host Thank you so much to everyone that volunteered. We received nothing but positive feedback from WGAZ. The judges and WGAZ staff were very pleased with how polite and accommodating all of the volunteers were, and they LOVED the taco bar!
