Upcoming Band and Orchestra Information for Week 10/2

First thank you to everyone who helped with last week's busy Homecoming Week. We are very appreciative, and for the students, I'm very proud of your work last week! Congratulations!

Here is upcoming information for this week (as well as after break!)

The registration form for Indoor Percussion auditions is now live. Please note that we are expecting increased interest, and spots WILL be limited this year. The group is a truly combined effort between SHS and Walden Grove, and prior participation in Sahuarita Indoor Percussion does not guarantee membership again this year. Monday, October 2: Jazz Band and Orchestra Concert in the SUSD Auditorium at 6:00. Students should arrive at the auditorium no later than 5:30. Dress is concert black (black top, bottom, dress shoes). This will be a short concert, so please come out and support us!

Tuesday, October 3: Marching Band rehearsal 5:00-8:30

Thursday, October 5: Percussion and Guard Sectionals: 3:45-6:00

Friday, October 6: Football Game – SHS vs. Rio Rico

          4:45 – Tailgate

          5:30 – Warm-up and Uniform Inspection

          7:00 – Kickoff

Saturday, October 7: Marching Band Competition at Peoria HS. A complete itinerary for the competition was sent out last week. Please make sure to review it carefully.

FOLLOWING FALL BREAK INFO:

1) Our Butter Braid fundraiser will be kicking off soon after fall break. I'll be sending out more details soon! This fundraiser is for all Band, Percussion, Guard, and Orchestra students!

2) Orchestra will be traveling to Tucson High for Fall Orchestra Festival on October 20 during school hours. Because we are unable to take a yellow bus, we are still in need of two parent volunteers for the day: one to drive a van with students, and another with a large vehicle that can transport our basses. Without parent volunteers for orchestra I will be unable to get all of our students and equipment to festival. I will send out a complete schedule for the day prior to break.
